David J. Machado Memorial Golf Tournament
Now in it's fourth year, Take a Swing FORE ALS - the David Machado Memorial Golf Tournament - hosted at Fall River Country Club honors the life and legacy of life-long golfer David Machado, who passed away in 2018 from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to ALS Therapy Development Institute, a non-profit biotech working to discover and develop effective treatments for ALS, and to ALS Family Charitable Foundation, a non-profit organization providing ALS patients and their families with resources to lighten the burden of living with ALS.

the format
Golfers will tee off at 12pm in a shotgun format.
Lunch and registration begin at 11am.
the fun
Closest to the pin, straightest drive and longest drive are complimentary, with prizes for men’s and women’s winners.
After the round, golfers and dinner guests are invited to a buffet dinner with live music, a raffle, silent auction, and prizes.

We could only host the David J. Machado Memorial Golf Tournament at his favorite course, the Fall River Country Club. Established in 1895 and tucked away on a quiet and secluded parcel of land in the North End of Fall River, MA, FRCC is a classic New England golf course. Situated along the banks of the Taunton River, FRCC features water views on 15 of 18 holes, along with beautiful vistas from the full-service Clubhouse. Regardless of skill level, your golf experience is certain to be both memorable and enjoyable!
